We came in for lunch. The lunch menu didn't have the Tom Kha Gai soup but they let us order it from the dinner menu. One of the best soups I've had in Florida. I had the Thai tea with milk. It was okay, nothing super special. The beef Panang curry was so delicious. We asked for super hot and boy did we get it. My throat was on fire but tasted so good!!! The chicken pad Thai was yummy also. All the food was cooked to perfection. I recommend everyone go here.

Everything I had was fantastic at this place. The only improvement they could make is their service. It took a while to get the food, plus get seated.

Everything that I used to love about Siam Hut is here at Phensri, but 100 times better. Each dish is prepared with care and presented beautifully and it tastes fantastic. Whenever I am in town to visit my parents I come here with them and two of my oldest friends. Gar truly loves what he does, and it shows. Keep up the good work!

I took a friend who had not been here before for dinner Saturday about 6:30 pm.. They were busy but not full.. Stood and looked over menus for 5 minutes and no one greeted us. Went to register and the man at that station looked at me and said Name? I said we just want a table for two. Waitress seated us. We waited 10 minutes with no further human contact and finally left. Although I have enjoyed the food here before, the service on this occasion ranged from rude to none. I don't plan to return. My friend asked why they have such a bad attitude. Dave

We just recently moved to North Fort Myers and I needed a place to satisfy my Pad Thai craving..this definitely hit the spot! The place did seem overly warm inside, which I think a few others commented on..but I'll probably only ever get carry out so it doesn't bother me. We got two orders of pad Pad Thai, which were HUGE servings. I thought it seemed just a little on the sweet side, but still very good and I'll definitely be coming back for more!

Pad Thai is simply the best in both Naples and Fort Myers area. The fish with the sweet chili sauce is second to none. I have never had a meal here that is not really- really- great Thai food.

Who would have thought some of the best Thai food would be in a strip mall?? We'll look no further.

I had my husband pick up thai for the first time and I loved it! I had the chicken pineapple curry (spicy) and it was phenomenal. My husband got the pad thai and he wasn't a fan. Either way I will go back again for sure!

This is the only Thai food we've had in 2 winters in SW FL, and it was terrific. It was just the 2 of us for Christmas Eve this year so we did our usual "no guests" routine of driving around to look at holiday lights and getting Asian food. We decided not to do Chinese this year, and Pho Vinh, which was our plan, was closed, so we ended up here. What a great find! We're guessing the 3 staffers who all served us were a family, and they were so gracious and friendly. Someone was always stopping by with drink refills or to ask how the food tasted. We had 2 of the several soups offered - the Tom Kha Gai (chicken/coconut curry) which was "medium" in spice and had a nice kick, and the Joke (ground rice/shrimp with lots of ginger) - great texture and a generous amount of perfectly cooked pieces of shrimp. Both soups were piping hot, loaded with goodies and the perfect portion to leave room for entrees. Hubby had traditional Pad Thai, again the "medium" spicy was just right for our pretty adventurous pallets, which also supplied plenty of meat, expertly cooked noodles, the best blend of seasonings and a generous amount of sauce topped with peanuts and scallions. I had the three season with chicken and it was exactly as described on the menu - crispy, boneless chicken pieces (another large portion) in a spicy curry paste sauce with lots of tender-crisp veggies. It reminded me of the chili-chili duck I love so much at Montien in Boston but without the fatty skin. I took home leftovers which were kindly enhanced with additional rice. No room for dessert. By the time we left there were only a couple empty tables, and 2 larger groups had just arrived. Several of the parties seemed to be regulars as the staff knew them by name and we heard different tables reviewing their favorite menu items. In fact I overheard a woman next to me raving about the three season being her favorite dish on the menu, and that's how I chose my entree. We can certainly understand why this place has a loyal following, and we will go back soon!

We ate here while visiting from CA. Food was excellent, we had pineapple red curry, pad thai and butterflied shrimp. All was excellent, wait staff was friendly and attentive. Not overpriced. We will eat here again next time we are in Fort Myers.

This is without a question an excellent Thai restaurant. The best in the county? It might be! I haven't tried them all, and I know of another very good one, but this place is clearly in the running. For lunch, we started with the Combination Appetizer. It included two crispy spring rolls (okay), two fried wontons (excellent), two chicken wings (good) and though it wasn't mentioned on the menu, they also included two "toasts." The toast is ground pork mixed with spices & spread on a small piece of French bread dipped in egg batter and fried. I thought it was truly delicious. Lunch comes with soup or salad. We had one of each, and the soup (a rice and ginger combination) proved to be a real treat. The small salad with peanut sauce was quite good as well. For lunch we had the Pud Keemow Noodles with beef and the Massaman Curry with pork. The latter is prepared with coconut milk sauce, which I adore. We ordered one "hot" and one "medium." Be prepared if you order food hot - it will be VERY HOT. A great place.

We had early dinner there yesterday and it was fantastic! The restaurant (furniture) looks a little dated but you would not believe how good the food tastes. We had coconut soup and pad-se-ew as well as fried rice with shrimp. Wow, they serve this kind of flat rice noodles (the wide ones) which I have been looking for since I moved from NYC. Will definitely come back soon! The waiter, who seems to be the owner was also chatting with us and everyone was very friendly, although the place got really crowded when we left around 6.30.

Pad kee Mao was fantastic. Penang and pineapple curry were delicious. The pad Thai is good and the prices are reasonable.

Fantastic service here! The owner is on the floor to wait on tables. He definitely makes for a positive presence in the dining area. The house red wine by the carafe was excellent. The volcano chicken was very good as well. Down sides: appetizer spring roll was a joke. Not even four bites. Portions were just ok. I didn't even have leftovers, which is strange for me. All in all if your close by, try them out. It was very good.

Nice quiet atmosphere, very clean inside, which is a plus. And the food is awesome! Love the pad-thai, Curry's are excellent, all the apps are great. Love this place!

WOW this has to be one of the best places so far that I have tried. It was a Monday at lunch time. Pretty barren of customers. Why I do not know. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. I had fried wontons for appetizer. The were crisp and delicate with a wonderful sauce. I had the thai chili with beef. The salad was delicate and filling with a peanut dressing :-). The main entrée was made per my request extra hot & spicy. Not the wimpy ways of Floridians. It made me sweat yet very flavor able. The beef was tender and not over cooked. The green beans were cooked to tenderness yet crunchy for the vitamins . It also had sautéed onions. The rice was a small tender grain I have not seen before fluffy. The presentation was just plain beautiful. The ambiance was wonderful with a Thailand theme of Buddha & elephants. So if you are up for an adventure of your taste buds and are not a old fogey . Try this exotic culinary place

Have wanted to try this place for a while and finally did tonight! Thrilled by how CLEAN and nice it was as soon as we sat down. Nothing grosses me out more than a dirty, sticky menu and theirs looked brand new! Was even more pleased when each dish we ordered arrived, and we tasted the GREAT food! We had the dumplings and spring rolls for our appetizer. Both were fabulous! I had the garlic chicken and my husband had the pad Thai. While neither of us have had either before, we were thrilled with how tasty they BOTH were! We will definitely be back! Can't wait to try one of the curries!

Fantastic Thai. There is a dish I love that is off the menu. I asked about it, and they just made it up for for me, and it was amazing! I have never had anything I didn't like, but the nutty chicken is a particular favorite!

Great Food Dragged Down By (Mostly) Terrible Service. We went to Phensri Thai last night for the first time with friends who were hesitant after a previous unpleasant experience. Another couple was waiting to be seated when we arrived so there was now a total of seven people in the vestibule. The place was obviously busy but for several minutes no one greeted us nor gave us any indication how long we would have to wait for a table. Eventually a pleasant enough hostess arrived, seated the first couple and told us we'd have a table shortly. A virtually silent young man with a Mohawk, and considerably less personality than Lurch from the Addam's Family, took us to our table then left without a word. He obviously did not want to be there that night, if at all. The table was large enough for ten (two rectangular tables put together) and since there were only five of us the seating was somewhat awkward. Worse though was the table setting which consisted of five plates haphazardly tossed on the table and a fork and spoon also sloppily placed with no placemats and no napkins. We were not off to a promising start. Menus were brought fairly quickly by another silent employee and then we then waited a long time before the hostess returned to take our drink order. We told her we'd like two checks and she asked us to let our server know. Our drinks were brought fairly quickly but then had to wait a very long time before our server came. Unfortunately he took two orders before we could tell him we'd like two checks. That information did not go over well and, with obvious exasperation, he left, whited out the first two orders, and then returned to start again. Once the orders were taken we waited about fifteen minutes before a small bowl of very average fried noodles and a tiny take out container of watery sauce was delivered. We then waited another forty minutes for our food to arrive. In all that time no apologies were offered for the long wait, no more noodles were offered nor were we asked if we'd like additional glasses of wine as two out of three were empty. Eventually we flagged down a server and requested more noodles and wine. Finally food started to arrive with our rice being served by an extremely pleasant and outgoing woman (the owner we guessed/hoped) who, almost single handedly, saved our evening. She and the rest of the staff we'd encountered so far were so completely opposite that it was hard to believe they all worked at the same restaurant. Five different dishes, three at Thai spice level, were ordered and all were extremely well prepared with the Pad Thai and the duck possibly the best we'd ever had. Prices were reasonable, portions were generous, and the Thai spice level was pleasantly hot but not overpowering. As tables around us emptied the service started to improve considerably. A couple of servers we hadn't encountered previously refilled our plates, took care of leftovers, and were considerably more cheerful and professional than we had become used to. In the end we all agreed that, while we'll probably give Phensri Thai one more chance, it's such a shame that a restaurant with such delicious, well prepared, food is being dragged down by a handful of employees who should probably be working in another industry.

Bottom-line: hands-down best Thai in the area, and significantly better than much of the Thai fare I have had in major cities as well. After suffering a great while trying to find worthwhile Thai in the area (Cape Coral I am shaking my fist in your direction), I found salvation in Phensri. I caught wind of the restaurant on Yelp, and decided I'd risk my neck and honor bringing the entire family + in-laws there for dinner. My father spewed skepticisms and criticisms non-stop, as I sat there sweating bullets. Then the food came, and everyone shut up enjoying the mouthgasms that ensued. Needless to say, I did not have to castrate myself with shame. The menu has a great variety, from the typical noodle dishes (Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao) to interesting specials containing fresh fish to frog legs. The entree section is actually a list of flavors which can be used in a stir-fry, offering your choice of chicken, pork, beef, tofu, shrimp, or squid. The dishes all had wonderfully prominent flavors, perhaps even a tad salty. The Pad See Ew was cooked to perfection, with just a little browning of the noodles for a great crunch and just the right combination between sweet and savory. The fish special, glazed with the restaurant's "special sauce," had a wonderful kick to it at medium heat. It may be a tad much for some, but was perfect for me. The fish itself, snapper, was very soft and flakey, lending itself well to soaking up the sauce. The service itself was fantastic, with very friendly waitstaff. They will even dole the rice out onto the plates, saving you the agony of doing it yourself. I normally refrain from writing reviews on yelp, but my experience moved me to try and increase awareness of this great restaurant. Also, they saved my manhood.

I love the Nutty Chicken dish here! Moved here from NYC and its been hard to find restaurants that live up to my expectations. This place is great! One of my favorites down here. I usually get take-out. Staff is really nice too.

The best Thai food I've ever had. My wife and I eat here often and have never been disappointed. Service is great and the restaurant is clean. Try the Thai crepe for starters!

Excellent Thai food. I eat at a lot of Thai restaurants locally. None are bad. The thing is, this is authentic and consistent. Also, if you want your food spicy, they'll do it. So many places Americanize it, even if you say "Pit Mach." It's easy to go past the place as it's in a mall and not well-lighted. If you want to start out with something mild, pad Thai is the ticket. I live nearby so I eat here fairly often--I wouldn't if it weren't excellent. Highly recommend. Be patient if they're busy. They don't take shortcuts to speed orders up.

My wife and I ate at this place Two nights ago and had a wonderful meal. I had the Red Curry Beef and My wife had the Beef Lo Mein and both were just delectible, properly prepared and Wonderfully served by our waiter named John, But last night we took our grandson with us to try the Duck. For starters my duck was nothing but BONES & GRIZZLE, I almost swallowed a bone during my first bite. My Wife and Grandson were a little luckier than I and did not get as many as I did but still it was uncalled for, think if that was a child eating the same dish. The place had no airconditioning running and it was so hot in there I had to walk out and get some air, they were very appologetic about it and actually tried to make up for it by bringing us a complimentary Fried Bannana Desert. Today all three of us are Sick and it's not the flu, need I say More :(

I couldn't pass up Phensri after reading Jeannine's Yelp. As I was on a short visit to the area, I can't compare to other Lee County restaurants but, I can say Phensri was an able stand-in for my favorite San Diego Thai. Some stuff was odd, fried spring rolls for instance. Other things were curious such as the lack of basil flavor in the 'Thai Basil' dish. In the main the food was good enough. On the local scale it may be good enough to seek out as there were a number of snow birds complimenting the food. However, in the grand scheme of restaurants the food was not worth searching out from afar. As always competent is 3 stars. To address an earlier yelp, the restaurant is warm particularly in the winter because of the restaurant's southern exposure. If you find yourself at Phensri before the sun goes down, I suggest layers really thin ones. Mike

Finding gems like this restaurant is what is so great about Yelp. It would be nearly impossible to find this place without help, and all I can say is WOW! The food here was exceptional; perhaps the best Thai I've ever had. I like spicy and the medium spice actually had some bite to it. I'd say one "must have" is the papaya salad. Normally, I'm luke warm on this dish but it was outstanding. Please support this restaurant so that it will be there for our next trip to Florida!

Thai food is my and my husband's favorite food. We have tried Thai food in many provinces and states. I have also been to Thailand. This restaurant has a very inviting atmosphere and very attentive staff. The food is the best we have had in North America. The feature I find so unique is the fact they use no preservatives, even in their sauces. The variety of appetizers and entrees is very large. I can't wait to go back!

My friend Cindy took me here last night and I really liked it a lot. The decor and feel was nice. The prices were low. I had the spring roll appetizer and it was great. I had the Pa Naang Chicken entree and I loved it. The favor was amazing. I prefer a thicker pa naang sauce than what they served, but the flavor was amazing and the jasmine rice was perfect. Service was friendly, they even took customers to their cars with huge umbrellas in the rain! :)

This is by far the best Thai restaurant in Lee county. Have tried them all. The Panang curry is perfectly done with the spicy panang & sweet palm sugar! Try the Thai iced tea too! I can't believe this place opened so close to me ...Orange Grove & Hancock Publix plaza :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE.. I ALWAYs get pad thai.. guess i'm just stuck and salad with peanut dressing. I hardly ever went over that way but was introduced several months ago by my friend when we had a 'girls' day out for lunch. TO DIE FOR!! not ACTUALLY die, but feel free to take a bite, chew slowly, close your eyes and just savor.. then for dessert.. chai tea with cream/milk/whatever goes in it.. tops off the meal totally. Now I work in Cape Coral and pass the restaurant every day.. of course I call ahead, order my pad and salad and drop by. The Staff is adorable and make me feel so welcome. ROCK ON, peeps!!! I'll be back very soon!

This is one of the very best Thai restaurants I have frequented across the country. It is tucked away in a little shopping center. Pleasant inside with a varied menu. To start, it is not a fast food joint. Service is a little on the slow side, primarily because everything is cooked to order. I noticed a few very unfair reviews posted that focused on "slow service". I have been there three times and enjoyed the food immensely. Menu choices depend on personal tastes, so experiment to suit yours. As for me, I especially liked the cashew with steak. The steak was lean and the sauces tasteful. In terms of appetizers, try the Thai Crepe. Among other ingredients it includes minced shrimp. I found it to be a outstanding!

  • Happy S.

Very poor service had to wait for 15 mins before waiter could get us water, 45 mins for 2 dishes this is when there was not too much rush. When told the owner about poor service he showed an attitude. I would never go there or recommend to anyone. If it's gonna take time at least show courtsey of informing...

Best Thai I've had in town. I wish it was closer to where we lived. I had the pad Thai and my husband had curry. Both great. Service a little slow the night we went, but it was pretty busy, and understandable. Hence - the 5 stars. I will be back!

I've been dying to find a good Thai restaurant in the SWFL area. This gem is tucked away in a Publix shopping market. The interior and decor leaves something to be desired, but it certainly doesn't take away from the food. I'm sure this place gets busy during season, so be sure to come early before the dinner rush! Or you can always order takeout :) Upon entry we were greeted and seated within a minute. All of the staff were happy to assist us and answer any questions we had. After we ordered we were given these crispy wonton strips to dip in a delectable sweet and sour sauce. For appetizers, we had the spring rolls and chicken stay. I didn't have the spring rolls but my father said they were 'okay'. The chicken satay was well seasoned and came with chopped cucumbers and peanut sauce. I ordered the Panang Curry with Chicken for my entree, my mother the Chicken Pad Thai, and my father the Chicken Soup. Everything tasted amazing! I ordered my curry 'medium' and it had a nice, slow heat to it. The dish was well-seasoned and the portion was very large. I didn't try the soup, but did steal some of the Pad Thai. It was a little sweeter than most Pad Thai's I've had before, but it was still very good. Overall, a great visit and definitely a place I would recommend!

I'm so thrilled to have found a Thai restaurant in Fort Myers that is comparable to Thai restaurants I've been to in NYC and LA. We ordered the thom kha soup for an appetizer which is a coconut-milk based soup with a bit of spice, chicken and vegetables. The pad Thai and pineapple chicken curry were also very good. I will definitely be coming back!

I ordered a take out, on the phone they were pleasant said 20 min. I arrived in 20 min-waitress was rude-said people had come in since I placed the order-1st come first served! I went home and came back in 20 min. He was on the phone, I saw my order-noticed the amount owed left exact change and left! I was NOT a happy camper!! Food was good, skimpy on the shrimp:-( Would I go back???? Maybe

Met friends here several years ago and this place still has excellent Thai food. I enjoyed the shrimp Penang Curry very much. It could use a little something for atmosphere but it's a nice place to visit.

The place is quiet and the ambiance is quite relaxing. The staff is very attentive and explains the dishes well. The food, not bad not great, it's ok. We had: The coconut milk based shrimp soup and it was good. The Chicken with green curry/coconut milk sauce and it was kind of watery not the typical thick sauce consistency I'm used to from other restaurants. Steak in oyster sauce, this was the best of all.

We have lived in cape coral for 7 years now, and didn't know about this restaurant until recently last year. It's hands down the best Thai restaurant in the area, as we've tried just about everything (Suriya Thai, Siam Thai, Bangkok Thai, Sushi Thai, Thai Basil, etc..). The food is just tasty, very flavorful, and makes you crave for it some more with each passing visit. Only negative is that it takes a long while for the food to come out, but it's definitely worth the wait!

  • Phil H.

We have eaten here many times. The Tom Yum soup is very good, though my wife likes the Tom Kai gai better. The Thai crepes are extremely well prepared and always good. I've had all the curries and while it is hard to chose a best I think the green curry with shrimp is my favorite. Pad Thai and all of the noodle dishes are great. Since everything is prepared to order expect to have a relaxing conversation while waiting on the food. Enjoy the experience.
